Our Family - it takes a village to raise a child

We prefer the word 'Home' to 'Orphanage' simply because we feel the latter supports labelling and stigmatisation of already vulnerable children. Ours is to encourage and nurture each child to grow up believing they can achieve dreams beyond the skies and to instill hope irrespective of what may have happened in their past.  We provide a safe environment that celebrates and help them realise their full potential.

Our facilities are open to all children who fall within our selection criteria, with each home allocation specifically designed to ensure a holistic care environment.

Our first children joined the Heaven Homes family in 2013, and this has grown progressively with referrals coming from various regions in Sierra Leone.  We currently have over forty (40) children in our Heaven Homes family, most of whom lost their main carer during the Ebola epidemic.

There has been notable progress in the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of the children, clearly confirming that with the right care, environment, and nurturing, a child can thrive outside the conventional family unit.
